[aprssig] New hurricane storm type codes?

Greetings, all.
With the high occurrences of hurricanes, typhoons, and related storms this year, I've been monitoring for APRS position and object reports using the /@ and \@ symbols codes worldwide, and I've been getting some errors processing them.
Besides the APRS 1.0.1 spec's defined storm type codes of TS (tropical storm), HC (hurricane), and TD (tropical depression), I've seeing some other codes reported.
I assume TY is for "typhoon". I'm not sure what TC is supposed to stand for.
Have these codes been added to a later version of the APRS spec and I missed the announcement, or is someone sending non-standard messages?
Example seen from APRS-IS  at 2017-Sep-12 04:00:37 UTC:
W7KKE-3>APRS:W7KKE-3>APRS,TCPIP*,qAC,T3PERTH:;TALIM+12 *121200z2254.00N/12800.00E at 300/013/TC/075^090
Any info welcome.
