[aprssig] When did APRS start ?

Under the name APRS, it was 23 .7 years ago at the DCC presentation in
TeaNeck NJ in Sept/oct time frame.  The concept of using a one-to-all
connectionless packet mode for this kid of app dates back to around 1983 (or
so?), when I used it on Comodore 64's and VIC-20's for tracking runners in
the 100 mile endurance run and National Disaster Medical Exercise.  Bob

But that main page is not updated continuously.  So it was in its 21st year
when that page was last updated.
