[aprssig] ARISS Dashboard - Beta

hi Andrew
Thanks for the idea. I use Python and some bash scripting in the backend, and javascript in the front end – all running on my RASPBERRY PI Farm<http://www.n0agi.com/call-sign-lookup/> along w/ my other services.

I will look into the OpenStreetMap route and see if I can embed call-sign location info into it easily for usage. Do you know if they offer a pre-baked service that searches by call-sign. I did not think so, but, wanted to ask.

Nagi

Nagi,

What language is your Dashboard written in? My YAAC program has a map that does not depend on any external map server and can expose its map to the web. Perhaps you could use a scheme similar to what I am doing.

Hi Steve
Thanks for letting me know. Sorry, I did not realize that it was you who owned FindU and that there was a financial implication to using it. I would have discussed it w/ you prior to embedding if I had known. Sort about that.

All,
I will have a mapping control built out (hoping soon) and will plan on using that once it's up. Whilst I build out my own mapping control, I will remove the FindU mapping control from the dashboard. Thanks all for your patience and interest in this service.

Kindly keep the feedback coming. Thanks

Nagi

This is a nice effort. Unfortunately the use of findU was not discussed with me. I have to pay for the use of Google Maps because I exceed their free threshold, and I simply cannot afford to finance other people's web sites. So the findU map cgis are blocked from this page.

Sorry I must do this, especially publicly, I wish it had been discussed privately with me before announcement...

It currently captures, processes, data mines and provides visualization for data cubes such as - IGates, Tx/gated stations, station grids, Port-Of-Entry (POE), packet types. More can be added as needed, but, wanted to kick the tires w/ these and test the waters during beta 3. The service uses findu's mapping control, but working on custom mapping control for future versions. Thanks to findu's author for the mapping control.
