database, at info.aprs.net. As Steve joked about at the beginning of this
thread, APRSWiki failed to leverage the APRS community and ended up being a
tremendous amount of work for the ultimately responsible hosting parties.

Last June, the web server for info.aprs.net failed, at which point a new
operator was solicited, which garnered zero response on the list (not even
any congratulatory or remorseful remarks). info.aprs.net went offline to
practically no fanfare.

How is what you're describing not exactly like that which has just been
shuttered due to a lack of success?
