The right solution today is a Kenwood D710. Considering time and
frustration - it'll be the best working system.

The 9600 is still a real problem with USB soundcard dongles. There
are issues with transformers and DC blocking capacitors. This is a
solution that shows real promise but there are still challenges.
FWIW - not the question at hand but related - the 4800 QPSK mode
(UZ7HO and others soon) is working out better but still requires
direct discriminator audio. 3600 QPSK is working solid with speaker
audio.
