[aprssig] Argent arduino shield

I found I needed to remove the shield to program the arduino
I am also thinking of adding header pins to the TX and RX pins on the shield
Or even a button to "hold off" the connection to the shield whilst
programming.
A command to chnage baud rate would be good instead of having to drag out a
cable and program with OTWINCFG
Or a push in out button "1200/300"
Be nice to branch out the TX RX LED to a front panel.
I can't get the CW ident to work - not so worried.
I am going to software serial a GPS and leave the TX0 and RX0 for the shield

Thank you for your reply
I see the Arduino Mega has more than one UART
So do I have to do anything on RX ?
The shield decodes and presnts on pin 1/0 tx/rx of the arduino
Does that show up on the serial monitor ?

Yes, it will transmit and receive. The RX side is a little picky about
signal levels and doesn't have much filtering, so try to give it a clean
signal.

Can the argent arduino shield tx and rx ?
I see code to tx and rx but can it do it like a tnc ?
i guess u could spend most of your time rx unless a tx event is needed ?
plan to use the uart on an arduino to talk to shield
software serial gps
