1) You simply CANNOT CANNOT CANNOT just move as-installed programs from one
Windows computer to another.

Virtually ALL programs, outside of the most minimal single-file utilities,
place many files into the the common \WINDOWS directory and/or it's subs, in
addition to setting up stuff in the program's own folder.

Formal program installers also make dozens (or sometimes hundreds) of entries
into the Windows Registry (the vast shared database file about everything
installed or configured in Windows) that is located in the \WINDOWS directory.

Simply copying an as-built program's own folder from one machine to another
completely overlooks all this additional stuff.

2) "Digipeating" means re-transmitting packets over RF. You are
apparently confusing it with "Igating" (verb form of "Igate" --Internet
Gateway) which is the correct term for passing packets from RF to the Internet.

This is ABSOLUTELY ESSENTIAL to doing a UIview setup on a new machine. You
MUST first do a cold install from the UIview setup package.

Then, if you wish, you can clone the configuration of the old setup to the new
one by copying the files "UIreg.bin" and "UIview32.ini" from the main UIview
folder on the old setup to the corresponding location in the new setup.

"UIreg.bin" contains your name, call and registration code that unlocks
UIview in your name.

"UIview32.ini" is where hundreds of user settings and preferences like
beacon path settings, beacon comments, igate login passwords and filters, the
list of available APRS Internet servers, available maps, selected TNC type and
on and on are stored. Nearly EVERYTHING you can change, pulldown or check-off
on UIview menus is stored here.

Also, don't overlook copying any added maps from the UIview\maps folder to the
corresponding place on the new system.
