Wow, that was easy.



*Subject:* APRStt (Touchtone) on the air in Annapolis



We just put the APRStt (touchtone) QIKCOM-2 satellite transponder on the
air in Annapolis for locals to try out.  But there's more!... WoW!
 -----------Now the new idea! --------------

It only took a few hours, but it is now all coded, including the table for
ALL repeater frequencies encoded to 2 digits.



It works like this:



Anyone can encode their callsign and 2 digit “repeater code” and store in a
DTMF memory.

At any time they can send that string from memory, and here is what happens
at the APRStt CALL-engine:



1)      User includes the 2 digit repeater ID “94” in his DTMF callsign
string

2)      CALL Engine responds on the simplex DTMF channel with spoken
“CALLSIGN Listening on 146.940”

3)      APRS packet goes out on APRS with a 1 mile ambiguity packet from
the CALLSIGN that includes the QSY frequency such as:



WB4APR>APRS:!3859.  N/07628.  WA146.940MHz listening APRStt



Done.

Anyone on APRS seeing that packet can QSY his Kenwood or APRS radio to the
voice channel with the push of the TUNE or QSY button.  Anyone monitoiring
the area wide DTMF channel will hear where the person is operating and when.



ALSO:  As part of general APRStt, any of the DTMF-only users can send any
of the other 99 standard APRS messages too from their DTMF keypad using the
DTMF Message format… with only the 2 message digits…

Its working and programmed.  Now all I have to do is conncect it to the
simplex DTMF radio on 146.58 for DTMF users and to another 144.39 APRS
radio…Done.
