I just saw W0JW's post for help on the UISS mailing list, so he is actively working to resolve the problem.  He hasn't gotten a reply yet, but at least it is out there.

I have used UISS lightly, nonIgate, with software TNCs which use KISS with no problem.

<I have reached out to W0JW directly and hopefully he will be able to resolve the issue without too <much pain (turn off Mic-E translation, again, and handle packets transparently, probably by switching <to KISS mode on the TNC if the software can handle it).  Good things to remember for anyone running <any type of IGate.
