The latest version of gqrx can stream digital audio to another application.

Dire Wolf, version 1.0, can decode the audio via UDP, serve as an APRS
digipeater, IGate client, and virtual TNC for other applications.

I am using an SDR RTL dongle using gqrx under opensuse 64 bit

Having success with the ax25 decoder

Just wondering of a way to extend this past just decoding to an aprs program

Can you you the RTL dongle with sound modem ?
