[aprssig] UDR Tracker Demo

What, may I ask, is a "websocket port"? I've heard of a port on which a
server listens and a client connects a socket. And I've heard of a web
interface, which implies the HTTP protocol over a socket connection.
But when you put all three words together, I haven't got a clue just
what it is nor how I would connect a client to it.
Also, what kind of traffic comes over the connection? AX.25 implies a
bit streaming protocol wherein the client is responsible for all of the
low-level bit stuffing. Or is it a KISS-type interface where the AX.25
is organized in the actual data bytes and the UDR does the
bit-stuffing? Or is it something else entirely?
Do you have any sample client code or complete specifications of the
interface that could be used by an APRS client application to both send
and receive APRS (AX.25 UI) packets?
