And there's already at least one APRS client program that supports OpenTRAC, which is my YAAC program ("Yet Another APRS Client"). <shameless plug>

I'm fixing a few bugs in the OpenTRAC support in the upcoming build 26. 

Would there be interest in a protocol-translating OpenTRAC-to-APRS digipeater (working both ways)?
