Has anyone else read "Freedom (tm)" by Daniel Suarez?

(If you have, you'll know where I'm going with this...)

This sounds like the beginning of reality catching up with fiction, along 
with the (Augmented Reality) app's (Wikitude etc) found on some recent 
smartphones.
