No,  But then I just did and they all work!  Thanks!  We use them only on
battery power, so I didn't even have one of those 5.5 volt tiny power
connectors, but yes, now they work on external power.

Amazing thing is the battery contacts look good as new.  Now, even
scraping them up a bit on the contact points still does not solve the
problem, but I bet it is the internal contact between those contacts and
the press-fit contact to the PCB.

These were 350mw 2m radios radios obviously built on an FRS foundation
which we use for low power packet demonstrations.  Over time (many years),
they have all failed (wont turn on).  Now 3 of 4 are dead.
