The telephone or internet connection is required only if you order pay per
view, etc. This is how the accounting department gets the information for
billing for the additional services, ie pay per view.

Subject: [aprssig] RV APRS and Dish TV

Curious,

Does normal DISH TV work portable on an RV? I see RV's with the dishes, but
the fine print in the adds imply that you must have a phone line or internet
connection too.

Or are RV accounts something special? Or can you just unmount your dish
from the side of the house, and take it with you portable (while doing APRS
portable of course).

I assume that basic channels are always available? but that all on-demand
and specialty features are not available without the talk-back link...

Our TV is on rabbit ears (just like APRS on RF only), so need tips from
APRS/TV RV'ers.

Bob
