I bought one of these to replace a Garmin GPS-18 serial which finally died 
after almost 10 years exposure to Southern California's highly-corrosive ozone 
and SO2 laced air.    The Argent works fantastically -- far more sensitive than 
the earlier-technology original GPS-18.

I assume the  SiRF-III-based Globalsat will have essentially identical 
performance. but for direct USB-interfaced  application on my netbook.
