[aprssig] APRS client for Macbook Air?

That may be true (I can't confirm or deny, not owning a VX8), but NMEA 
isn't APRS.  You might get posits and most or all of the comment, but 
many times the symbol is changed.  And other APRS data simply doesn't 
have an NMEA equivalent.  And NMEA might display on a suitably featured 
GPS, but APRS clients will be expecting full APRS packets.
