And while we're on the subject of .POS overlay files, there's a 
specification subtlety that says that the first line is a description of 
the file.  And also that a line starting with a * is a comment.  There 
is NO requirement that the first line start with a *, but since it is a 
"description of the file", APRSISCE/32 explicitly ignores it rather than 
try to parse someone's "description" as a valid packet spec.

PS.  Every existing .POS file I've found has a description as the first 
line.
