[aprssig] Can we use satellite digipeater for power outage region?

The International Space Station DIGIPEATER is coming over Japan 6 times every day in the afternoon.  ANY APRS station can digipeat through it EASILY.  Just change FREQUENCY to 145.825 and the normal PATH of WIDE2-2 will work fine.

This will cover all of Japan 6 times a day.  Every 90 minutes.

To see activity see www.ariss.net.

But statiosn only show up on that page if they use the PATH of VIA ARISS.  Then the ISS will substitute its callsign RS0ISS* and then the page will capture it.

But even if you use the normal WIDE2-2 path, it will be digipeated and show up on the APRS=IS after the one hop through the ISS.  THe uplink path will be WIDE2-2 and the digipeated path coming down will show WIDE2-1 if successful.

Just listen on 145.825.  Whn you begin to hear packets, then ISS is in view.  And will be again in 90 minutes (unless it is the last pass of the day.
