Here's more incorrect settings out there to confuse new APRS users:

LTP 1 APRS VIA WIDE,WIDE 

MYALIAS WIDE 

UIDIGI ON RELAY,WIDE,TRACE,SS 

UIFLOOD WIDE,30,NOID UITRACE TRACE,30 

TRACE OFF 

UNPROTO SYMBD VIA WIDE3-3  (not sure 'SYMBD' does for you, and the WIDE3-3 would cover several hundred miles here in New England!)
