[aprssig] Info about Kantronics KPC-3+

I have to buy a TNC for a stand-alone APRS digi, and, if needed, that
can be also used in Kiss mode connected to a PC.
Is it possible, with KPC-3+, to have the TNC working, at the same
time, as Widen-N digi and as Kiss TNC?
Any comment about using the KPC-3+ as stand-alone digi?
Is it rugged enough?
Is it decoding fine all packets (even the under modulated beacons sent
by my VX-8G...)?
Any cons?
