  Hi Andrew,

Most MySQL libraries have functions called variations of "mysql_escape" that will automatically escape characters like quotes. Before any data is sent from APRS-IS through our OpenAPRS parser and into mySQL all of the "control code" characters are removed using REGEX replacements.

As we know the APRS stream contains characters that MySQL or QUERY forming applications may not like.

Just wondering how the big guns handle these ?

Do you do a search and replace with an escape and re-parse on request ?

The characters I can think of are quotes
