On the subject of voice alert, I have a good and a bad story.... The good)
KC4PL and I often use voice alert to "hail" one another. Works really
well. The bad) I left my radio on pinging away every 2 minutes while
running inside a store the other day (ie radio unattended). KI4PKL got off
work and heard my pings and thus noticed I was nearby. He was able to drive
to me and give me something we'd been meaning to exchange.
We call it the hailing frequency.
