The COM PORT on the D710A head is the"TNC PORT" - makes sense.

If you have the COM PORT turned on and the radio in "APRS"

You will get GPS positions and received packets - and your prompt is "?"

If you have the COM PORT turned on and the radio in "APRS12" <TNC BUTTON>

You will get "?" which is the radio asking for a command

To get the radio into "TNC" mode, you must send it this:- (ui-view extract)

The port on the back of the main (radio) unit only responds with "?" implying that you can only do memory or frequency type commands on that port.

It does not respond to being put into "TNC mode"
