[aprssig] Kenwood D7 software on Linux?

I suspect some of the older Kenwood D7 PC utility code, tries to use
BIOS call's for serial ports, as they don't always work OK on WinNT
based systems.   Try Link700, that run's fine on XP and the like, so
*May* do the right thing if you can present a vritual com port for it to
play with.  It will also work with all versions (AFIK) of D7, and also
the D700, so you can transfer settings from rig to rig just fine.  It
also handles a wider range of COM ports too.

Never used Wine, rarely use Linux.  The times I have done for a specific
purpose, though usualy successful, has been fraught with hassles, mostly
relating to out of date instructions and conflicting information.
Seems to be "just the way it is" with "open source" stuff, not just
Linux based...
