You're comparing a sailboat, worth tens if not hundreds of thousands of
dollars, and which is used for a personal venture, to software that is
written for the benefit of the community at large?  Hardly a correlation
worth even trying to understand.

Dale, et al., should be congratulated and praised for the work they have
done, and let nothing stop that!  I am merely mentioning the fact that when
things are created for public venture, it would be considerate to think of
the ramifications of disappearing one day without a plan.  That shouldn't
detract from the praise of the years of service, or rights to do with it
what one pleases, but it does make it more difficult for the network to
progress.
