For messaging from the on-screen keyboard on the Nuvi 350 and the T2,
you want the FMI cable. It puts the Nuvi in FMI mode for you. The T2 can
output received position reports as waypoints. There is limited support
for symbols, but what you see is what you get. Sometimes dots, sometimes
flags, sometimes a car symbol etc. You can re-program the T2 from the
Nuvi keyboard, and send and receive APRS messages.

You can specify a connector for the T2 end of the cable or add your own.

Alternatively, get the USB mini-B right angle connector and make your
own level converter. There's a drawing in the T2 Yahoo support group
files area.
