Scott I got the GTRAN-kW cable working with my Nuvi 350 today.
I tried it out by tracking the local Super-digi. I selected the digi on the scrfeen and just pressed GO. I took a little ride and then tracked back to home.
The speaking turn by turn gps is something new to me.
Sweet!
I am running the D-700 but I can live without the symbols. It's fine.
I really like this.
Sure wish I had it going Sunday when I went to the hamfest down in Danville, IL (HFEST-23D). I did get a couple parts I needed at the hamfest to complete the gps install. (and sold my Garmin V at the hamfest.)
I have the radio body hidden in the back of the Prius with all of the cables bound in a spiral wrap along with an RS-232 cable for a laptop connection.
I borrowed the RS-232 (db-9) cable making it dual purpose.
The cable adapters are female 3/32" to male db-9 on the gps end and female db-9 to 3/32" male on the D-700 end.
Worked like a champ.
Very satisfied. Programmers rule!
To everyone else, it's not too late, Radio Shack still has the Nuvi 350 refurb on sale through Aug 31. Came complete with suction cup mount home and mobile charger and data cable. Very nice complete unit.
