This brings up an interesting race condition that I've seen WRT
taking over objects/items between clients.  I'll start another
thread for that.

What I'd like to say here is:  The "smart" clients should see that
something else is broadcasting the same name and cease transmitting
it themselves, effectively giving ownership to the other.
