Yes, there are preexisting automated systems and yes, there are hundreds of individual client software out there generating those objects and hundreds more -properly- interpreting those object names.

I do not understand why you don't give it a rest.  Most everyone is in agreement that trailing spaces can safely be ignored (trimmed) and most everyone except you have said that you should not alter the internal content the Object name as defined as all between the first character and the last non-space character in the field (which may include multiple spaces).  While some may not like the way they display or the possibility of multiple spaces being mistyped, you now have evidence of multiple software packages out there (and the Kenwood radios) which handle multiple spaces just fine.  So do we tell everyone (including Kenwood) that they need to quit accepting multiple spaces and compress them to one or can we leave it as Bob stated (paraphrased) "embedded spaces are fine, trailing spaces may be ignored".
