Whoops… Sorry for the empty post. Apparently, Hotmail doesn’t work with Linux anymore. Here is what the post was supposed to contain:
Hello to all,
As a follow on to my post regarding a Touchscreen APRS software (and cross-posting from the TM-D710_TM-V71 yahoo group). I have yet another question that I believe may be best answered by the aprssig folks…
Is there a software program available that takes the place of the D710 display head? I am looking to do a very clean APRS 2m/70cm mobile install. I would like to have the radio completely controlled by a PC with an in-dash touchscreen interface. The only piece of radio hardware I want to touch or see is the mic.
I would appreciate any and all suggestions. I think the APRS equivalent of the ten-tec omni vii is what I am looking for.
>From the ten-tec site: "That's not all: the latest GUI source code (written in Visual Basic) and complete programming instructions can be downloaded to build your own GUI."
Is there a mobile radio out there that has an open computer interface?
Thanks in advance for any advice,
Fred KJ4LFJ - New ham having fun
