(Trying really hard not to get into the IP debate - already erased two 
draft rants on the subject.)

Arnie's absolutely right.  These projects usually need a benevolent 
dictator to drive them effectively.  And no, I'm not volunteering, 
though I'll be happy to contribute to the content.

Any new spec ought to have a little more on network behavior, I think. 
Nail down the specifics of WIDEn-N behavior, define a common 
timeslotting system, and so on.
