I disagree. We 'are' better and not because we were in a hurry to fail.
Much of APRS is a patch-work of corrections because we didn't wait
or dream a little.  

Bob doesn't need or expect non-stop pats_on_the_back or a self-appointed
spokesman. It's dreams that made a lot of what we are doing today possible. 
The same applies to our hobby. This is a discussion group that is read by 
far more people who actually do things and make dreams possible. APRS 
will never be a perfect world and the last thing I'd expect to hear is anyone 
telling me to moderate my personal beliefs when a good debate is in order.

Over the years I've had very good and productive conversations with Bob.
Many ideas came to use from those discussions. At the same time, you
have to believe that a few things failed, because they simply needed to.

Never stop dreaming... and never become prey to your emotions. And Brian,
we know who Bob is and what he has brought to the table. I personally
think productive criticism is better than simply rolling over, and Bob has
been known to handle it well <g>.
