Bob WB4APR responded to another thread:
"Well if hams were keeping up with APRS initiatives, then the freqs would show up on your APRS rig within 10 minutes of arrival.
Individuals would be including their monitoring voice frequency in their beacons, and digipeaters would be including the locally
recommended voice repeater in each of their areas.
But alas, at the rate at which hams absorb change, it will take 10 years for this to fully penetrate... We started this initiative
in 2004, so only 6 years to go!"

It seems the APRSSIG isn't enough to get the word out.
How about some APRS expert writing an "APRS Update" article for QST and/or CQ and the TAPR Packet Register?
It could *summarize* all the key "latest and greatest" APRS policy initiatives: local info, voice alert, path paradigms, etc., with
links to Bob's website for more details. That article might also ask clubs to include the article in their club newsletter or
forward it on club email lists (that means the article should also be placed in a website somewhere for download purposes).
Beaconing that webpage's URL on RF might help.
Any other way to get the word out?
