[aprssig] GPS Jamming On The Rise

Hi Brian,
Yes, and in fact I still use it with my TH-D7. But partly the decision to replace the GPS-III was for the other uses, where a readable screen, downloadable maps, in-unit routing, searching, and all the other bells & whistles that have come out in the past 8+ years are useful. And the eTrex gets gets like 4x better battery life and is smaller.
As you did, I'm looking to get a smaller hockey-puck or equivalent to use with the D7; something I can mount on top of it so I don't have stringy wires all over the place. I'm thinking of the modules from SparkFun, for example the 406A (http://www.sparkfun.com/commerce/product_info.php?products_id=465), either running from 4 AAA NiCd batteries, or maybe tapping into the D7's 4-cell pack. I've talked about this before... really need to get on it!
