[aprssig] D-STAR VOICE value?

I guess we will have to agree to diagree.  I doubt it has improved any 
and it is still as closed source as it ever was.  If the system had any 
future don't you think the other radio companies would want in on it?  
Full disclosure I'm a Yaesu fan.  Look at all those US Wires II stations. 

What is the value of an Internet based linking system when the Internet 
is gone?  Analog or Digital?  Does D-Star have a way of linking without 
it that I'm not aware of?
