UI-View treats stations and objects the same in that it places them on
the map, but it is apparent by the shading of the object name that it is
an object.

I think it would be a fundamental mistake if anyone could take over a
station and move or kill it. If Joe's tracker dies and I decide to, or
am asked to create an object for him, then that will be an object and
not a station, even if the name of the object is the same as the
callsign that was entered in Joe's tracker. I just checked it out in
UI-View. There was no problem creating an object where the name
was the same as used by a station already showing on the map... i.e.
in UI-View's station list. I then deleted the object. The original
station was still displayed. It will remain there until it expires or I
delete it... on my own map.

I'm not sure what you mean by that.

In UI-View, objects created by me are owned by me. I can also edit an
object created by someone else and take over ownership. I can't take
over ownership of a "station" though, just an object. I can't move
someone else's station either.
