3)     The tidiest way to deal with GPS on a TH-D7 is to use the Garmin 
Foretrex 201 wrist-wearable GPS.  It works perfectly when connected to 
the D7 with a 2.5mm-to-2.5mm stereo mini-plug cable.   The Foretrex 
contains it's own rechargeable lithium-ion battery and a quite legible 
display.  If you set the D7 to send RECEIVED posits as NMEA waypoints TO 
the GPS, it will plot them on a rudimentary map labled with callsigns.   
[The ForeTrex appears to have the same basic capabilities, firmware and 
display as the basic yellow Etrex but in a much more versatile
