Glenn, if you get a chance to dig it out that would be great.
If they are similar, my unit has a small battery compartment
on the back. You remove a door by sliding it toward the outside
Edge, and the battery compartment shows outlines of 3 cells. I
Assume it uses Lithium's, probably a commonly available "photo"
cell. Together the 3 would be slightly longer than 2 AA's and about
The same diameter. Looking today at RatShack there are too many
Variations to take a chance toasting a $3000 GPS by guessing.

This one acts very erratic, and the manual I have for the next model
Talks about that happening when the battery is low. Maybe your unit
Just needs a new battery too.

You're right, Leica isn't too interested in anything that isn't in
Their current product line. The local dealer tech promised he'd
look it up for me, but I guess that's far too much work pulling a
Binder off the shelf.

Let me know if you come up with anything.

I also have a Leica/Magnavox GPS. I bought it a few years ago at a hamfest.
I do not remember the model number. I can get no support from
Leica/Magnavox. I think that my unit suffers from the 1024 week rollover
and/or the T2K bug. The antenna for mine is a survey antenna. I will have
to dig it out of storage to check the model numbers.
