This is only the case because ICOM doesn't think there will be a big enough market.
Look at the iPhone story. Apple/AT&T sold so many 8gb versions that they
decided the 4gb wasn't worth making. And, they sold so many over all that they
decided to lower the price to increase market penetration.
Unfortunately, many companies still have not learned the volume story from
WalMart (and others who demonstrate that volume happens)...
