This month we have seen 13 more local voice repeater objects on APRS, up to a total of 170 on 2m and about 50 on UHF.

This is appoaching probably 20% implementation.

The goal is to have EVERY APRS digipeater to announce its local voice repeater frequency recommendation in ITS local area (direct) so that travelers can see what frequency to chat with APRS or other locals.

After 10 minutes of being on the air, if your D7 or D700 or other APRS station does not show a FREQUENCY in its station list for your local area, then please work with your local digi sysop using the above web page to adopt this very progressive APRS feature.

No, it does not do all that much for you, but it will be wonderful for you the next time you travel in someone else's area. ALso, once the FREQUENCY object is on the air in your area, you might hear a few more APRS mobiles making a QSO on your recommended repeater...

When you travel, same thing. If you do not see a recommended FREQUENCY object everyhwere you go, then come up on the local voice repeater and chat with them about it.
(if you can figure out what the local frequency is!)..
