The D700 will show 'My POS' when it hears your own packet digipeated.  If 
it's not showing that indication, then your signal probably isn't reaching 
the nearest digi.
   WHether you're asking for three hops (WIDE3-3) or two hops(WIDE2-2) 
makes no difference if you're not being heard by the first digi!  Maybe 
there's a local fill-in digi that's closer, but doesn't support WIDEn-N. 
Try WIDE1-1, and see if any local digis respond, then expand from there, 
only if necessary.
