In my experience, SAR services at sea will want to have positions as
DD MM.mmm DDD MM.mmm, i.e. degrees and minutes and decimal minutes.
Coast radio stations will give positions in that format as well, e.g.
when giving positions for temporary obstructions.
This corresponds with the grid printed on the edges of the charts.
