But if you look at how long a bluetooth GPS receiver equipped with the 
(power hungry) SiRF III chipset works continuously with its slim lithium 
battery, power consumption should not be a major obstacle when 
integrating a GPS receiver into a handheld trx. If no built-in GPS 
receiver, then at least bluetooth for the serial/GPS connection would be 
nice.
