[aprssig] APRS -- Chicago to Mackinac Island sailboat race

Bill,
I hope this doesn't sound stupid but why not use APRS itself to parse packets to I Gates while you sail?  Just beacon your position @ 10 minutes and let the established net of digis and gates to send your data to the net.
