Interesting. The send PVT command is the only one Garmin lists... unlike
the myriad waypoint commands. Maybe it'd work if I polled it.

In NMEA mode, it used to plot a unique numbered waypoint, but that was
fixed. Truthfully, I have not been able to use it with my t2 tracker in
garmin host mode. I think it does not recognize the command you send it to
make it send periodic positions... doesn't work with netstumbler in garmin
mode either. But it does work fine in NMEA and/or textoutput modes with
netstumbler.

What I heard was that it was only fixed for NMEA mode, not Garmin binary
mode. Have you tried both?

The 276c used to give sequentially numbered waypoints, but that was
corrected when I complained... please, please let's not muddy the waters....
it was fixed.

take waypoints in Garmin format. And last I heard, the 276C does both but
creates sequentially-numbered waypoints when given a duplicate name in
Garmin mode only.
