Afternoon everyone,
thanks for the replies

Mark, point taken re synthesised radio.

Andy, thats a rather large tower :) what size battery are you using  
with the 60 watt panel?

My plan is to get the Radio/OT2 side up and running at my home QTH,  
and measure its consumption with a whattmeter, then look at sizing  
the panel/battery.
