BUT so is WIDE1-1,WIDE3-3 !!  And a digi, such as uidigi-rom, configured 
to a N=3 hop area will provide 4 hops for that path.  So what I am 
suggesting is that in order to limit hops to 3 you actually have to 
program the uidigi-rom (and others) as if they were N=2.  And then 
recommend that users set at a max a path of WIDE1-1,WIDE2-2.
