Ben,

Echo is valid, it will get your signal digi'ed hopefully by a much 
stronger station. Use echo,gate,wide or echo,gate,wide1-1.
Are you txing on the correct frequencies?
What tones are you using? the center of the tone freqs should be on 
10.1493MHz
