The D700's Tasco TNC is an accessory board attached by a ribbon cable 
too.. This is one thing that could be improved upon.

I'd be willing to pay 100-150$ to get a 'refresh' for my D700 
hardware.  I do like it, but it'd be nice to have the opportunity to 
move forward in some form.
